The FDRE ARRA and JCC agreed to build cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on “Areas of Inclusion of Refugees, Returnees, and Host Communities on the National Jobs Creation Plans and Initiatives”. The MoU signing took place in Addis Ababa at Eliana International Hotel on Monday September 27/2021.

This MoU was signed by H.E. Ato Tesfahun Gobezay, Director General – ARRA and H.E. Nigussu Tilahun, JCC Commissioner. The MoU is a form of mutual commitment in complementing each other’s duties and function in the perspective of governmental duties and national development, in particular inclusion of refugees, returnees, and host communities in the national jobs creation plan and initiatives.

The MoU is signed to formalize the mutual interaction and strengthens the relationship between ARRA and JCC at the strategic and working level, focusing on the joint undertakings to develop, implement and monitor special projects that aims to create better, decent and quality jobs employment opportunities, as well as continue enhancing individual performances in line with their duties and authorities to highly benefit people of concern (POC).

The major thrust of the MoU is to promote inclusion of the POC in the national jobs creation plan and initiatives and also create mutually beneficial cooperation between the agencies through a joint effort to mobilize resources from within and outside.
